Happy Friday to you all in the US! Its currently Friday night here and we will be heading out soon to watch some live music, but I figured I would give a little update on my life here down under. The first week of classes has gone and passed. Let's just say that this is going to be a tough semester. Australians take academics extremely seriously. I was warned that this would be harder than it looked, but I brushed it off like it was no big deal. I mean, I've been at Gordon for three years...I know what a hard course load looks like, right? HA.

I felt the rays of the sun on my eyelids and I slowly awoke. It was 7:45 on Sunday morning--the last day of freedom before classes start on Monday. Church was supposed to start at 8. Great, I missed it. Then, my train of thought looked something like this: "Well, that means I need to go to the 10:30 service...but then I would have to tell my apartment mates where I am going. UGH. I wish I told them upon meeting them that I was a Christian. Oh wait, there is a 6:00 service tonight! Perfect. I will go to that one. I can just sneak out after dinner." Shameful, I know. I hated feeling the way I did. I knew that I needed to spend some time with the Lord that morning.
Twenty-six hours of traveling makes your destination feel that much better. It was a long day full of flights, tiny seats, and airplane food. But let me tell you, when I stepped foot in Sydney it felt immediately worth it.
